Yes! We’ve successfully tested and operated this adapter internally with our Atomos Ninja, Shinobi, and Shogun monitors.

Will this adapter allow a Focus monitor to pass power through to a camera using a dummy battery?

This adapter will allow a Focus monitor to pass power through to a camera using a dummy battery. Be advised that you might get a battery error on the camera, which you can ignore, and your battery percentage indicator won’t be reliable.

Do you recommend this adapter for SmallHD 500- or 700-series monitors?

We don’t recommend this adapter for SmallHD 500- or 700-series monitors because the Sony contacts are unreliable. Please try the SmallHD D-Tap Power Adapter for 500 / 700 Series Monitors instead.
