The TASCAM SB-16D 16×16 Dante Stage Box and Audio Interface is an I/O expansion for Sonicview digital mixers and recorders that also functions as a stand-alone audio interface. Key features include:
Dante analog converter; supports AES67 & SMPTE 2110
16 inputs, 16 outputs; 96 kHz / 32-bit AD / DA converters
Sixteen HDIA mic preamps – one on each mic input
Works with Sonicview mixers or as a stand-alone interface
Superlative Audio I/O for Dante Networks. The TASCAM SB-16D 16×16 Dante Stage Box and Audio Interface offers the same audio performance and build quality that you expect from Sonicview mixer-recorders. It’s a Dante-networked 16-in / 16-out stage box that seamlessly integrates with Sonicview-series units but can also be used as a stand-alone interface. You can rack-mount the SB-16D or use it as a floor stage box, and you can use multiple SB-16D units in a single Dante network.
Effortless Integration with Sonicview Units. While the SB-16D is an exceptional stand-alone interface, it really shines when connected to a TASCAM Sonicview unit, like the TASCAM Sonicview 16XP 16-Channel Digital Mixer and Recorder. You can control the SB-16D’s mic-gain setting from the Sonicview, and all of the SB-16’s inputs and outputs appear on the Sonicview VIEW touchscreens for ease of use. The SB-16D includes 8-in / 8-out GPIOs, which expand to 16-in / 16-out GPIOs when connected to a Sonicview mixer, giving you parallel control.
Feature-Rich I/O Expansion. The SB-16D’s 16 XLR mic/line outputs and 16 XLR line outputs enable it to tackle most any large ensemble or extensive Dante system. If you need more I/O, you can just network more SB-16Ds. Each mic/line input is exceptionally quiet, with a -128 dBu EIN with a +32 dBu maximum input level. The input channels each have +48V phantom power and an SIG OL LED for easy input-level monitoring. The line outputs are also outfitted with SIG OL LEDs. The SB-16D supports Dante Domain Manager and interoperability between AES67 and SMPTE 2110 modes, and its two Dante ports are equipped with etherCON-compatible Dante connectors for redundant streams with strong connections.
Sonicview-Quality Preamps and 32-Bit A/D Converters. Each of the SB-16D’s mic inputs feeds one of TASCAM’s top-of-the-line High-Definition Instrumentation Architecture (HDIA) preamps, which pick up a performance’s subtlest nuances. Additionally, this interface uses 96 kHz / 32-bit analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters for exceptional audio quality with minimal latency.
Remote Control to Change the Station. It’s easy to control the SB-16D from most anywhere in the studio or venue with the TASCAM IO Control app for Windows, macOS, or iPadOS. The IO Control app even works when you’re using the SB-16D in stand-alone mode.
