The motor then physically shifts the lens’s position up to 4.5mm on the Z axis, enabling autofocus even on manual-focus lenses. This adapter supports AF-S and AF-C focusing modes. If you set the lens to its close-focus position, you can use this adapter’s extension to get macro capabilities.

This adapter can be used on the FX3, but cannot be used on other FX or FS series cameras as the lip below the E mount blocks the adapter from locking into place.
We do not recommend using this adapter with CDAF-only E-mount cameras, such as the Sony a7, a7R, a7S, a7S II, A6000, and NEX.
