The Tokina Cinema 11-16mm T3.0 MK II EF is a rehoused cinema lens designed for APS-C/Super 35 cameras with Canon EF mounts and an update to the Tokina Cinema 11-16mm lens. Key features include:
Durable, all-metal cinema housing
Fully manual aperture and focus
Good low-light capture
High-quality optical design
What’s New with the Mark II? As far as we can tell, the Tokina Cinema 11-16mm T3.0 MK II EF lens only has an updated housing that now matches the PL version. Bright orange and red marking are traded for green and white. The focus ring on the new housing does provide a slightly extended focus pull range for more subtle focus adjustments.
All-Metal Cinema Housing. Tokina has taken the popular Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX-II and stripped it down to its optics. From there, it’s constructed in an all-metal housing with standard 0.8 pitch geared focus, aperture, and zoom rings.
Fully Manual Lens. This is a fully manual cinema lens that provides no electronic communication with the camera. You must manually make all aperture and focus adjustments on the lens itself, and lens information is not transferred through EXIF data.
Wide-Angle Zoom. With a focal length roughly equivalent to 18-26mm, the Tokina Cinema 11-16mm T3.0 EF is arguably one of the best wide-angle zoom options. Its fast T3.0 aperture enables low-light capture and subject/background separation. The image circle is optimized for APS-C and Super 35 sized sensors. It does not cover full-frame sensors.
High-Quality Optics. This Cinema version features the same high-quality optics as the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX-II, with two Super Low-Dispersion elements and two aspherical elements that produce sharp, high-contrast images.
