12-bit ZRAW & 10-bit H.265 Recording. The Z CAM E2-S6 Super 35 6K Cinema Camera (PL) can capture up to 12-bit ZRAW at DCI 4K and 10-bit H.265 or 8-bit H.264 at up to 6244 × 4168/30p to CFast 2.0 media. The sensor is full-frame and capable of 14-stops of dynamic range. This Z Cam cannot record to external media via its USB Type C connector. Want a full frame version of this camera? RAW Out Over HDMI. In addition to the codec-rich internal recording options, the Z Cam E2 S6 can also output 12-bit ProRes RAW over HDMI when paired with a compatible recorder like the Atomos Ninja V when running the latest ATOMOS firmware.

Metal Cube With A Sensor. Z Cam seems to have found their niche with entry-level cameras that are not much bigger than the lenses that will attach to them. This is still the case with the Z Cam E2-S6. The all metal housing makes sure the tightly packed electronics can still dissipate heat while shooting.

Wireless Control. While the Z Cam E2 does feature an LCD for interfacing, it doesn’t offer a live view option and on-board controls are limited by the small amount of real estate on the body itself. Fortunately, users can connect to the camera’s ad hoc Wi-Fi for direct control with the free Z Camera app on compatible iOS and Android devices.

PL Lens Mount. This E2-S6 has an passive PL lens mount for compatibility with most PL-mount cinema lenses. There’s no official compatibility list, but please contact us if you have specific lens compatibility concerns.

We include a Hawk-Woods DV-F590 L-Series Battery and charger with this rental but also include a d-tap cable for powering from larger cinema batteries or other sources with d-tap outputs (not included). Please note that no AC adapter is included with this rental.
