The manual aperture ring offers 1/2-stop clicks throughout the f/2.4-22 range, and the ability to mechanically switch to clickless operation.

Manual Focus. The knurled metal focus ring with 220º rotation provides buttery-smooth yet weighted operation. Engraved depth-of-field and distance-scale markings ensure easy visibility. The electronics built into the lens enable both focus confirmation and automatic viewfinder magnification.

Advanced Optics. The symmetrical Sonnar design features three partial dispersion elements to reduce distortion and chromatic aberrations without the need for additional specialized elements. The Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating eliminates lens flare and ghosting while providing the famous high micro-contrast Zeiss look.
