The Induro Carbon 8X CT214 is a previous gen. medium / heavy-duty tripod, with its replacement being the Induro CLT204 Classic Series 2 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod. Key features include:
Medium/Heavy Duty. The Induro Carbon 8X CT214 is rated to support up to 26.4 lbs. by the manufacturer. We think 18-20 lbs. is a bit more realistic, but that’s still plenty for use with a 300mm f/2.8. Its four-stage design gives it a maximum height of 61.2 inches with its center column extended (52.6 inches without) and a minimum height of 19.1 inches. It collapses down to 20.9 inches for easy transport.
8X Carbon Fiber. Its eight layers of carbon-fiber and wide-stanced, cross-braced magnesium-alloy spider design provide a rigid build that weighs a mere 3.3 lbs.
Notable Features. The CT214 has an oversized center-column lock and reversible locking center column depending on your shooting needs. The large twisting leg locks make setup easier when wearing gloves, while the included interchangeable rubber feet and stainless steel spikes will keep your camera secure. The integrated bubble level helps you get your camera level quickly.
Tool Kit. The CT214 includes a tool kit with three metal spiked feet, an Allen key, and a dual wrench in its own small case. It also includes a deluxe carrying bag with strap for the tripod legs.
