Please note, this rental only includes the Zoom F8n Pro recorder, ac adapter, and clamshell carrying case. Need an audio bag and TA3 to XLR cables? You can find those in our F8n Pro Field Kit!
Effortless Distortion-Free Audio. The F8n Pro lets you just connect your mics and record crisp, pro-grade audio. It’s designed to handle sudden, unexpected shifts in volume in stride without compromising the quality of your captured audio. Its 32-bit float resolution and dual-path A/D converters mean that it’s able to cover the audible spectrum without any digital clipping.
Versatile Recording Settings. This recorder puts a broad range of recording modes and resolutions at your disposal. You can record all eight inputs at up to 32-bit / 192 kHz; use BWF-compliant, industry-standard WAVs; or use the built-in ambisonic mode to capture 360° audio from compatible VR mics.
Multiple Outputs. This recorder doubles as a capable field mixer. It has two TA3-balanced main outputs and an unbalanced 3.5mm submix out that you can feed from different or identical sources, letting you easily route to multiple devices like cameras, mixers, and secondary recorders. The transparent, high-end 100mW per channel headphone amp is tied to its own quarter-inch stereo out, giving you clean monitoring of your pre- or post-fader levels, battery and recording-status alerts, and independent left-right signals.
Ambisonic Support. The F8 Pro lets you record audio in a range of ambisonic formats for VR, AR, and 360-audio productions. The ambisonics mode is versatile, giving you precision A-to-B decoding and balanced gain linking, and the option to use channels 1 to 4 for ambisonic recording while using channels 5 to 8 for other signals like boom or lav mics. You can use the free Zoom Ambisonics Player software to get the most out of the F8n Pro’s ambisonic capabilities.
Two SDXC Card Slots. Dual SD card slots let you record on SDHC cards up to 32 GB and SDXC cards up to 1 TB, giving you the potential for plenty of high-res recording time. You can record that same audio to both cards, set each card to record a different format, or track directly to an SD card while you’re recording USB audio to a computer for redundant capture.
Supports SMPTE Timecode. Timecode in and out is provided on BNC connectors. The Zoom F8n Pro uses a high-precision oscillator to generate accurate timecode with a discrepancy of fewer than 0.2 frames per 24 hours.
Bluetooth Control. You can use your Android or iOS mobile device to take extensive control with the Zoom F8 Control app. Use functions like record, stop, fast forward, rewind, mixer pan, fader levels, and more. You also get real-time monitoring of input levels, time code, and battery status. You can even rename files, add date and time info, and enter metadata.
Highly Visible Full-Color LCD. The F8n Pro has a 2.4-inch full-color backlit LCD that makes leveling and menu navigation quick and simple. Monochrome mode makes this recorder easy to use in any environment—from low light to direct sunlight.
Power Options. This recorder can operate on eight AA batteries (not included), an AC adapter, or a 9 to 18 V external DC power supply with automatic switching between power supplies.
