Canon RF Mount. The Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM belongs to Canon’s line of RF-mount lenses. It’s compatible with RF cameras, such as the EOS R5, EOS R6, EOS R, EOS Ra, and EOS RP. It does not work with Canon EF-mount cameras.

Versatile Zoom Range. This lens’s focal length covers an impressive short- to super-tele focal range, making it perfect for sports shooting, wildlife photography, photojournalism, and aviation photography. The f/4.5-7.1 aperture range isn’t useful for low-light shooting, so you’ll probably want to stick with outdoor lighting conditions for best results.

Optical Image Stabilization. The built-in optical image stabilization system provides up to five stops of correction, allowing you to shoot in low light and at lower shutter speeds without worry. There are three stabilization modes, each of which suits a different purpose: a standard single-shot mode, a panning-optimized mode, and a mode that only activates the stabilizer during the exposure.

Dual Nano Autofocus. The Dual Nano autofocus system uses both a ring-type USM and an STM mechanism to ensure fast, accurate, and nearly silent autofocus performance. You also get full-time manual focusing when you’re working in one-shot AF mode.

Advanced Optical Design. This lens’s fourteen-group/twenty-element optical design includes six Ultra-Low Dispersion elements and one Super UD element which combine to reduce aberrations, color fringing, and distortion for maximum clarity, color accuracy, sharpness, and rendering.

Customizable Control Ring. You can configure the RF 100-500’s customizable control ring to adjust a variety of exposure settings, such as aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation.

Teleconverter Compatible. The RF 100-500 is compatible with the Extender RF 1.4x and Extender RF 2x teleconverters, both of which are available as separate rental items. You can use these teleconverters in the lens’s 300-500mm range to extend its focal length.
