Fast, Powerful Strobe Lighting. With flash durations as quick as 1/21,100 seconds and a super-bright 500Ws lamp, the Profoto D30 covers subjects from still live to show-stopping action. Unlike the more portable battery-powered options from Profoto, such as the Profoto B10X, the D30 is AC-powered only, which allows it to have a higher output and a faster recycle time. If you are in a studio or similar setting and require a lot of power with a lot of back-to-back flash pops, this is the strobe for you.

Continuous Lighting Option. The D30 is equipped with an LED modeling light that has an adjustable color temperature and an output of up to 3800 lumens (vs 2500 for B-series Profotos). Brightness adjustments range from 10-100% with a CRI score of 94. This option is nice to have for either using just a sliver of light for a project, being able to simply see your subject better when composing, or for quickly checking shadows before firing off a flash.

Easy Interface, Robust Build. The D30 bridges the gap between the more prosumer-level B-series Profotos and the high-end 750Ws and 1250Ws D3 monolights. It offers an impressive amount of power but at half the weight of a D3. It has an intuitive interface with large, easy-to-read on-screen settings and has wide compatibility for triggering, including traditional sync port, AirX remotes, or Profoto apps (Profoto Control app and Profoto Camera app). There are 3 main modes: ECO, Boost, and Freeze. Eco prioritizes color consistency while Boost prioritizes power. Freeze will produce motion-stopping flash durations that can capture liquid sprays and other high-speed effects. This sturdy, yet still portable, strobe is a great choice for portraits, fine art projects, action, and commercial assignments.
