While we no longer rent this product, we do carry the Sennheiser G4 Wireless Mic Kit w/ Plug-On Transmitter. You may also find alternatives here.
The Sennheiser G3 Wireless Mic Kit / Plug-on Transmitter – Freq A offers flexibility for a wide array of uses, and is great for situations in which using hard-wired mics might be problematic. It has great battery life, its receiver pack fits on a hot shoe and can output (with different cables) to XLR or 3.5mm, and it offers a huge multichannel frequency range (1,680 tunable frequencies with 12 frequency presets).
This kit includes:
- XLR wireless pack (SKP100G3)
- Bodypack transmitter (SK100G3)
- Bodypack receiver (EK100G3)
- Hot shoe mounting plate
- XLR to 3.5mm cable (twist-on connector)
- 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable (twist-on connector)
- Lapel mic with tie clip
- Hard case
Plug-in Transmitter. This version of the kit includes an alternate transmitter for use with XLR microphones. You can only one transmitter at a time; you can’t use both simultaneously.
Power Supply. The Sennheiser G3 Wireless Mic Kit requires a total of six AA batteries to operate the receiver and transmitters. Batteries aren’t included with this rental, but Rechargeable AA Battery 8-Pack Travel Kit can be ordered separately.
Frequency Range. This kit is the Frequency Range A version. If you don’t need a specific frequency, then it doesn’t matter which you choose. Frequency Range A is no better than any other frequency range; however, if you’re using more than one kit at the same time, make sure they’re all in the same frequency range.
User Configuration. Because this kit’s ability to deliver good audio depends on getting clear reception, you must set up the wireless mics yourself on-site where you’ll be filming. The channels each transmitter/receiver operates on will vary depending on your location, so a good frequency in our office may not be a good frequency for your beach/church/army base/etc.
