High Capacity, High Speed. The Sony 960GB CFexpress Type B TOUGH Memory Card gives you a 1850 MB/s maximum read speed, 1750 MB/s maximum write speed, and 960GB capacity, all of which let you work with a wide range of video resolutions, bit-rates, and compressions, and with continuous high-res RAW-format stills. This makes it great for use with high bit-rate cameras like the Sony BURANO 8K Digital Motion Picture Camera.
VPG-400 Certified Stability. This card is VPG-400 certified, so its read and write speeds will never dip below 400 MB/s. This guarantees you stable, consistent recording, even when you’re working with high-bitrate or framerate video at resolutions like 8K30p and 6K60p. It supports the X-OCN LT compressed RAW format for internal recording.
Toughen Up, Toughen Up. This card is just as tough as it is fast; in fact, it’s roughly three times stronger than the CFexpress Type B standard. Its reinforced build can withstand drops from just over sixteen feet and can endure pressures up to 70 N, all of which helps protect your data from potential damage caused by physical stress and the frequent insertion and removal of cards during shoots. Its -13 to 185°F operating temperature and x-ray, electricity, and UV-ray resistance make it a great choice for working in adverse conditions.
The Heat is Off. The Sony 960GB CFexpress Type B TOUGH Memory Card’s design includes an underfill in the space between its integrated-circuit components and the substrate so that they adhere to one another for improved reliability. The substrate is positioned between two thermal-diffusion sheets that absorb shock and maximize heat dissipation to keep the card’s temperature low.
No Data Lost. If you accidentally delete image data from this card, you can use Sony’s free Memory Card File Rescue app to recover it. Sony also offers a free Media Scan Utility app that works in tandem with the separately available Sony MRW-G1 CFexpress Type B/XQD Memory Card Reader to diagnose the state of supported memory cards’ flash memory. It’ll display a warning when you’re approaching the card’s limit of read and write cycles.
XQD Compatibility. The CFexpress Type B media format uses the same form-factor as the XQD format. This means CFexpress cards may work in compatible XQD cameras that have updated firmware to support the CFexpress format. You can find some compatible cameras under Recommended on the left-hand side of this page.
