Mobile Cinema. The Sony BURANO 8K Digital Motion Picture Camera has an impressive spec sheet- 8.6K video capture, full-frame, in-body stabilization, Super35 support, and much more- but is designed for single-operator shooting. Its compact body makes it great for quick and versatile filming without sacrificing image quality or features.
Dual Lens Mounts. Doesn’t it suck when your favorite lenses use different lens mounts? With the BURANO, much like the VENICE cameras, you’ll have easy access to both PL and E-mount lenses thanks to the included mounts for each. The PL mount supports Cooke/I technology and ZEISS eXtended data, while the E-mount supports metadata if paired with a Sony E-mount lens. The E-mount can be found directly beneath the PL-mount, just six screws away.
Quick Autofocus. The BURANO offers a few autofocus options- Fast Hybrid, or phase- and contrast-detection autofocus, and Human Eye, ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects accurately, great for solo operators.
In-Body Stabilization. The BURANO borrows many features from the VENICE, but unique to this camera is the built-in image stabilization for Sony E-mount and ARRI PL-mount lenses. E-mount lenses support five axes of stabilization: pitch, yaw, roll, x, and y, while PL-mount lenses support pitch, yaw, and roll stabilization. The amount of stabilization can be modified.
Impressive Image Capture. The BURANO offers 16 stops of dynamic range, a built-in variable ND filter, dual-base 800/3200 ISOs, and multiple resolution, frame rate, and recording format options. Full-frame recording maxes out at 8.6k 30fps, while Super35 supports up to 5.8k. Recording format options include XAVC H, XAVC-I, XAVC-L, and X-OCN LT.
Convenient. The ideal mobile shooting rig wouldn’t be complete without a viewfinder, and BURANO’s LCD panel doubles as a touchscreen controller and is completely detachable. The BURANO records to CFExpress Type B memory cards- plural, because there are two media slots.
