Lens diffraction softening is very apparent at 35x and 50x. The numerical aperture is beneficial for focusing. While I cannot comment on Laowa’s Image Quality (IQ) as I have not compared it to a Nikor objective lens or high-end Mitutoyo glass, I experienced a lot of diffraction softening and focus breathing, especially at 50x, that required significant image cropping. I will say that this set is a good value for the money, but the image quality is not as professional as I would have hoped. The Canon EF MP-E65 f2.8 1-5x macro IQ is superior, in my opinion, although I’m not comparing apples to apples concerning the Canon macro, as it is only a 5x lens. Still, cropping a Canon MP-E65 image to yield a zoomed 10x magnification would offer sharper results. Read Less
