The Blackmagic Design Focus Demand is an add-on accessory for the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K – L-Mount, PYXIS 6K – EF, PYXIS 6K – PL, Studio Camera 4K Plus, Studio Camera 4K Pro, and URSA Broadcast G2 (B4), that allows for electronic focus control of compatible servo lenses via the camera’s USB Type C ports. The rental includes a tripod handle clamp, and if you’re also renting a Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand, you’ll be able to daisy chain the devices together to leave a USB port open for external SSD recording.

Will this work with older Blackmagic Studio cameras like the Studio Camera 4K 2?

No. This product is only compatible with Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 Camera running firmware v7.5 or later, Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus, and Pro models running firmware version 7.4.2 or later and will not work with older Studio cameras.
Alongside those cameras, this device can also be used with Blackmagic’s PYXIS 6K – L-Mount, PYXIS 6K – EF, and PYXIS 6K – PL cameras.
Support for more cameras is planned for a future firmware update, and we will update this page as compatibility changes.

Can I use this with every B4 or M4/3 lens?

No. This focus controller is only compatible with lenses equipped with electronic focus motors and will not work with any manual focus lenses.
