While both the Megadap ETZ21 Pro Sony E to Nikon Z Autofocus Adapter and its predecessor, the ETZ21 Adapter, both deliver the same autofocus functions and capabilities, there are a few small upgrades to expand connectivity. They’ve removed the connecting pads on the adapter for USB cable upgrade, re-designed the lens release button, improved compatibility with Nikon Z cameras, and expanded the mechanical fitting to be more compatible with Tamron lenses.

Not only does the Megadap ETZ21 Pro Sony E to Nikon Z Autofocus Adapter allow use of a Sony or third party E-mount lens with the Nikon Z camera of your choosing, this adapter supports electronic communication to enable autofocus, focus shift, pinpoint focusing, auto aperture, time-lapse, and interval timer functions. This unit offers multiple some really cool features, like smooth focusing performance during video shooting, firmware upgrades available via the camera body when the adapter is in use, transfer of EXIF data from lens to camera, and a stainless steel mounting ring for enhanced sealing on the circuit board.

Compatibility Corner. This unit works with both full-frame and APS-C cameras, such as the Nikon Zfc, Z50, Z5, Z6, Z6II, Z7, Z7II, and Z9. When it comes to lenses, third-party brands like Sigma, Tamron, Zeiss, Voigtlander, and Samyang are all just as compatible as a Sony-brand lens is! If you have a Viltrox and Yongnuo lens on hand that you’d like to use, it unfortunately isn’t compatible with this specific adapter.
