For Scanning Film. Film is back in style, and the Negative Supply Basic Riser XL is a great accessory to make the magic happen. With an extended height of 26 inches, this riser secures your camera in a downward position facing the included platform, where you can add the 35 MK2 Film Carrier, 120 MK2 Film Carrier, or 4×5 Sheet Film Scanning Base to scan your film.
Lenses You Should Try. It’s important to pick the perfect lens for scanning film, and we’ve got you covered on what you’ll need. For scanning 35mm film, you can use most popular macro lenses. Scanning 120 film will require a lens over 100mm in full-frame-equivalent focal length, and your 4×5 sheets just need a lens up to 90mm in full-frame-equivalent focal length.
Most Cameras Supported. Any DSLR, mirrorless, and most medium format cameras with a 1/4"-20 thread is a great fit for this riser, but it comes down to what systems and brands you prefer to use. Our large selection of cameras gives you plenty of variety, but we recommend something tough like the Canon 1DX Mark III or Nikon D5.
Design and Build. Built tough to keep your gear safe and secure, this riser is constructed from anodized-metal, hybrid carbon fiber composite, and aluminum. The black powder-coated, solid steel baseboard provides balance and stability.
