Comprehensive PTZ Camera Solution. The BirdDog P120 NDI PTZ Camera’s powerful sensor; 1080p60 top variable bit rate; 20x optical zoom; fast autofocus; and simultaneous live SDI, HDMI, and full NDI outputs make it a comprehensive solution that’s great for concerts, performance, fast-action sports, and meeting-room applications alike.
Sony Exmor R Sensor. A back-illuminated Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor allows the P120 to produce beautiful images with low noise sensitivity and other enhanced imaging characteristics.
Built-In 20x Optical Zoom. The Bird Dog P120 features a 20x optical zoom lens that will reach from 5.4mm to 104mm, and there’s also a 16x digital zoom option.
BirdUI Interface. The P120 uses the comprehensive BirdUI interface, which tracks a wide swath of system stats, including current bandwidth use, the number of active connections, and network traffic, and presents them succinctly. Additionally, the FreeD protocol for sending PTZ positioning data to AR and VR systems is built into BirdUI.
Inputs and Outputs. This camera uses an RJ45 ethernet port for NDI, but also features simultaneous video output via SDI and HDMI. There’s a USB/UVC port for outputting to a computer that uses third-party streaming software. A 3.5mm mini input jack allows for an unpowered line-in audio source, while a 3.5mm output jack lets you monitor over headphones.
NDI Video Scopes. The P120 can generate Histogram, Waveform, Vectorscope, or RGB Parade scopes in camera and send them out as NDI, NDI Proxy, or both, so that you can monitor scopes on the NDI Proxy while simultaneously sending a clean main NDI feed.
Control and Switching Options. The P120 NDI PTZ includes Full NDI 5 support for maximum compatibility across all ecosystems. It also includes NDI | HX 2, NDI | HX3, SRT, and H.264 support without requiring a separate license, so you can drop it into your existing NDI network with minimal setup. This camera gives you IP web control, RS-422 and RS-232 serial remote-control options, and NDI cameras can be controlled with a variety of software and hardware. We recommend NewTek’s NDI Tools as a starting point for free, software-based NDI control. Hardware control is possible with the BirdDog PTZ Keyboard. Please contact us for any hardware or software compatibility concerns.
Monitoring Options. You can monitor camera view via webUI, SDI / HDMI, and compatible third-party software. This camera uses the NDI | HX2 protocol, so we recommend making sure all third-party software is up to date.
Power Over Ethernet. This camera is capable of utilizing PoE+ from compatible network switches like the TP-LINK 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Poe+ Switch, but can also be powered by the included AC adapter.
NDI Genlock. NDI Genlock lets you select any NDI source to be the timing master for your fleet of P120 and P110 cameras. With all cameras operating off the same time-base, you’ll get more predictable timing in multi-camera environments, like live performances and sporting events.
Tally Light and Numbering System. An integrated 360° tally light ensures that your talent will know which camera to be talking to while letting switcher operators easily identify cameras.
Tactile PTZ Control. Moving on to controlling these cameras, the BirdDog PTZ Keyboard is a solution for moving PTZ camera control off of a screen and into your hands and is compatible with BirdDog NDI cameras such as the P120, P110, and the P200. You’ll get finer control and a faster workflow with a joystick and zoom rocker switch. The keyboard also has dedicated exposure, white balance, and focus knobs.
NDI & Much More. This BirdDog controller is compatible with cameras using NDI, NDI|HX, Visca over IP, RS-422, and RS-232 protocols. When using NDI, users can take advantage of audio intercom support using BirdDog Comms.
Power Trip. This keyboard can be powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), the serial port, or with the included AC adapter.
