Covering a massive wide-view to super-telephoto range, the Tamron 28-300mm f/4-7.1 Di III VC VXD for Sony E is an extremely versatile lens that is remarkably portable: only 5" long and under 2 lb. With one lens you can cover landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, wildlife, and sports.
Enhanced Form Factor and Operation. Tamron made some key structural tweaks to this lens for a user-friendly experience. The arc rotation of the zoom ring has been shortened so that you can reach your desired focal length quickly. The rubber on the ring has also been improved for better grip with deeper grooves. A curvier, more contoured profile makes the entire lens more ergonomic and comfortable to hold and the focus setting buttons on the barrel are surrounded by a bevel that naturally guides your finger to position. All of this, along with its overall compactness, allows this lens to be used all day without fatigue.
Outstanding Performance in Various Conditions. The Tamron 28-300mm f/4-7.1 Di III VC VXD for Sony E is equipped with a Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive (VXD) linear motor focus mechanism for advanced autofocusing with excellent tracking performance in low light. Tamron’s signature Vibration Compensation (VC) controls camera shake and this particular lens is equipped with AI technology that chooses the right compensation characteristics depending on whether you are shooting video or at focal lengths under 100mm. Leak-resistant seals are featured throughout the lens barrel along with high-precision components to withstand rigorous use.
Try it with These E-Mount Cameras. The portable nature of this lens makes it a great option for shooters on the go and pairs well with slightly more compact cameras like the Sony a7C II, the Sony a7CR, or the Sony ZV-E1.
