The large sensor in the small form factor is a combo I didn’t realize I would love so much.
It’s allows for simplistic artistry. Don’t think too hard with this camera and just flow.

Jedi. So, I rented the Leica Q3, ready to be blown away.
The too-long, didn’t-read version? The images were good, but they didn't exactly make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs. Here’s the thing: when a camera has a reputation as legendary as the Millennium Falcon, your expectations can go into hyperdrive—sometimes beyond what’s reasonable.
What did I love? The ability to change focal lengths in-camera was like having a mini Death Star at my fingertips, with the added bonus that I could still get the whole image in post if I wanted. And now, for the pièce de résistance: the Leica mobile app. Canon, are you taking notes? This app is the best I’ve ever used—it’s like the R2-D2 of mobile apps, always there when you need it, and it never lets you down. Seriously, if there were a Hall of Fame for camera apps, this one would be sitting on the throne.
Battery life? Well, let’s just say it’s more like Anakin before he discovered the Force—promising, but not quite there yet. But hey, being able to juice it up with a USB-C charger is super convenient, so I’ll give it a pass.
In the end, the Leica Q3 didn’t disappoint in the ways that matter most. It’s easy to use, feels like it was crafted by Ewoks (in a good way), and everything works together in harmony—except for those little niggles that keep it from being perfect.
So, should you rent it? Absolutely. Enjoy it, and may the Force be with your shots! Read Less
